Question 3: Make a list of the chapters in which you find mention of metal working. What are the metals objects mentioned or shown in those chapters?

Answer:Chapters 4 (In the Earliest Cities),
Chapter 8 (Ashoka, The Emperor Who Gave up the War) and
Chapter 9 (Vital Villages, Thriving Towns) mention metal working. Various metal tools which are mentioned in these chapters are;
(i) Axe: used for chopping wood and for clearing forests.
(ii) Sword: was used in battle.
(iii) Plough share and sickle: used in farming and was useful for increasing agricultural production.


Question 4: Read the story on page 130 (NCERT Book). In what ways is the monkey king similar to or different from the kings you read about in Chapters 6 and 11?

Answer: Some similarities and differences between the monkey king and human kings are as follows:
(i) Most of the kings took good care of their subjects. The monkey king shows the same mindset of being ready to sacrifice his life for his subjects.
(ii) While many kings assumed grand titles and led a luxurious life, the monkey king did not have such a title.
