2x-x = 8

X = 8

Thus, the required number is 8

(D) Think of a number which can be divide by 2, 3 and 5 and comes between 25 and 50.

Ans.A number which can be divided by 2, 3 and 5 and comes between 25 and 50 is 30. Because the required number must be divisible by , i.e., 30, and 30 is the only number between 25 and 50 which is divisible by 30.

(E) A small ant climbs 3 cm in 1 minute but slips down 2 cm. How much time will it take to climb 2 cm?

Ans.Let us represent this problem by a diagram.

Clearly, it takes 2 minutes to climb 2 cm.

OR

Net height attained in 1 minute = (3 -2) cm = 1 cm

Therefore, 2 cm height will be attained in 2 minutes.

Q.Indra and Bhanu first went in the motor-boat, then they took the oarboat.

How much did they pay in total for both the boats?

Ans. Total amount paid for the motor-boat and the oar-boat by Indra and Bhanu

= Charges for the motor boat + Charges for the oat – boat

= Rs. + Rs. = Rs. 100+Rs. 30 =Rs. 130

Ans.Total time for boating in case of Indra and Bhanu
